Use this, making your gamepad input keyboard controls, and everything should work. I sometimes have to go to settings, and controller remap, and attempt to map the triggers, the game won't let you map the triggers, but that seems to fix the issue and allows them to work.

This maps keyboard bindings to your controller to avoid that issue. Sometimes in game you have to go to keyboard keys, and map keys for it to take effect properly.
