It's eaiser to do the joystick scenes with than the regular mouse that would be all over the place in my experience. Hopefully this helps you as much as it has helped me.

combined playtime The ABXY buttons perform the function of the right stick, selecting directional commands and, importantly, the right half of quicktime events (I found it next-to-impossible to do them with the right pad). The right pad takes care of the rarely used button functions, but you can hold the left grip to use it for camera control.

combined playtime The game has trouble auto assigning controllers, so with this config you can select NO for auto detect gamepad, then go into the settings, enable gamepad, and then it'll work. Also easy QTE buttons, D-Pad is assigned to left joystick, and if you hold the right trigger it activates a mode shift to use ABXY as the right joystick. Left trigger mapped to A to act as a sprint. Back paddles set to bumpers.
