Off of Control Steam Controller (2015) about 17 hours
combined playtime Dpad on both trackpads and stick. This layout makes it easier to move one space at a time (by tapping) without overshooting, but you can still hold input to move continuously. You can adjust the balance of movement precision vs. smoothness by going to the settings for the directional "long press" commands and adjusting the duration. If you find you still overshoot when you were trying to move only one space, make it longer, or if that's not an issue and movement feels too jerky, make it shorter.
