on the Steam version: Only the three base controller types are accounted for, and other devices will either default to Xbox icons or a placeholder set containing PlayStation icons for menus and placeholder diagrams for QTE segments.

Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck and Steam Controller (2026) should default to relatively appropriate icons. however gamepads that fall under Steam's generic controller types may see these placeholder icons.

Input should still work, and the player can progress, but QTEs will be much harder.

Steam Input

The Steam version does not support more common controller APIs such as XInput. it's heavily reliant on Steam Input API for general controller support. As a result, controllers must be configured using either a default developer config or a modification of one; otherwise, the game cannot detect gamepad inputs.

Gyro is not a bindable action, but it will detect raw gyro sensors directly from Steam Input. Unsupported controllers will fallback to joystick-driven QTEs.
