Steam Input Community Layout Stats

Ever wondered how many community layouts have been uploaded to Steam?
How many of them are for the SteamDeck? - What about all the other controllers Steam supports? How many of them utilize the Gyro?

Well, now we can easily find out all of that in the Advanced Search here on SteamInputDB!

At the time of writing there have been 810925 community layouts uploaded to Steam, with unsurprisingly the vast majority of which are for the SteamDeck - 168767 to be precise The humble SteamDeck is only closely follwed by the Xbox One-Controller with a total of 154994 uploaded configs.
Place 3 goes to the DualShock 4 controller with 146403 layouts.

Also not surprising: The least amount of configs are uploaded for the upcoming new 2026 Steam Controller, which currently only, or should I say already, has a total of 3 community layouts uploaded to Steam!

Below you can find a table with all controllers that are currently filterable on SteamInputDB
(Steam may very well track more I haven’t encountered, yet)

Moving on from controller types, we can also check what kind features and bindings are used most.

495353 community layouts utilize Keyboard inputs, while “only” 486536 utilize Gamepad inputs.
Mouse inputs are used in 414270 layouts.

Gyro is only used in 90595 layouts, about 11% of all community layouts, indicating that it’s still a niche feature, but one that is definitely being utilized by a significant portion of the community.

Below you can find another table with stats I found interesting. You can draw your own conclusions from this.

  ^{(you could previously access it by clicking the magnifying glass icon in the header or from the mobile layout)}
• Add filters to exclude features from search results
  (e.g. “Show me configs that don’t have Keyboard/Mouse inputs”)
• Add a button to show and hide advanced search filters
• Changed default sorting of the in-header search results to in an effort to display what’s hot right now
• Added display of total number of Steam Input Layouts matching search criteria
• Updated Favicon
• SEO improvements
